Children from different clubs on the boards

Why Shift 18

67 %

of children and young people quit ice hockey between the ages of 11 and 22. Rarely for performance reasons, mostly because of structural hurdles.

The hurdles

  • Too little playing time

Big teams, few shifts, rarely real games

  • Selected early

Those who don't fit the mould sit on the bench

  • Daily life doesn't fit

Hard to combine with school, apprenticeship and family

Shift 18 keeps them in the game.
Every child gets their shift.
